Why did Sesame Street change Elmo’s World?
In 2002, Sesame Street’s producers changed the rest of the show to reflect its younger demographic and the increase in their viewers’ sophistication. Long-time writer Judy Freudberg came up with the concept of Elmo’s World, and writer Tony Geiss and executive producer Arlene Sherman helped develop it.

Is Bill Irwin still Mr. Noodle?
The Mr. Noodle character originated on Sesame Street in the late ’90s, played, as he still is today, by actor and trained clown Bill Irwin — at least sometimes.
Why are there two Mr Noodles?
Among his favorite roles was the kindly Mr. Noodle on PBS’s children’s show “Sesame Street.” The character was nicknamed The Other Mr. Noodle when Jeter took over the role from Bill Irwin. The two Noodles, the show explained, were brothers.
